A marketing qualified lead is a lead that has been determined to be a viable prospect for a business’s products or services. This determination is typically made through a qualification process that includes assessing factors such as the lead’s demographics, buying history, and contact information.

A small business may use different criteria than those used by a larger company in order to determine whether or not a lead is qualified. For example, a small business might consider someone who has visited its website multiple times but has not yet made a purchase to be a marketing-qualified lead.
